Quicken One Step Update Stuck on Processing, Refreshing, or Updating Data

Recently, we tried updating our quicken, during the update quicken stuck on processing data. Later we tried one-step update, but again quicken got stuck on processing, updating, or refreshing data, accounts, etc. We did some research and found some steps that can help in fixing quicken one-step update stuck in the loop.

Fix Quicken One Step update takes forever

If your quicken is stuck on processing data. Then you can follow the steps below to tweak some settings that can help you in fixing quicken one-step update stuck in the loop.

  1. Open quicken.
  2. Now press and hold the f4 and select the about quicken option.
  3. Change the connection channel to FDS.

After changing the connection channel try again. Now you’ll be able to get past the processing data screen.

Disable Web Sync

If the web sync is enabled then you can face issues while updating the quicken. To fix the quicken one-step update stuck issue, you need to disable the web sync option by following the steps below.

  1. Click on the edit option from the top.
  2. Now select preferences.
  3. Select mobile and web.
  4. Now turn off the sync.

After disabling the web sync option, you’ll be able to get past the updating account screen on quicken.

Or reset cloud data

  1. Go to the edit option.
  2. Now click on preferences.
  3. Click on the mobile and web option.
  4. Now select reset your cloud data.

Now check if the one-step update is working or not.

Validate Your Quicken

If you are still stuck on the quicken one-step update, then you can validate and repair your quicken file for fixing this problem. To validate your quicken follow the steps below.

  1. Open quicken.
  2. Now go to the file option.
  3. Now click on file operations.
  4. Select validate and repair option.
  5. Now click on validate the file and click on ok.
  6. Now close quicken.
  7. Open quicken and check if the issue is resolved or not.

If not then

  1. Again go to File and select file operations.
  2. Now press and hold CTRL+Shift then click on validate and repair.
  3. Now super validate the file.

Close quicken for 20 seconds, now reopens, and check if the quicken is working or not.

Wait it out

Sometimes updates take time to fully install on your pc. Some users have reported that they waited for 30-60 minutes, after that they were able to get past the processing data, refreshing data, or updating the account screen. So we will suggest you wait for some time and see if you’re able to get past the processing data screen or not. As quicken doesn’t show any progress bar so we’ll suggest you wait for some time so that the update is finished.

Re-login to quicken

Sometimes logging into your quicken account can help you in fixing the quicken one-step update stuck issue. Follow the steps below to log in to your account.

  1. Click on the edit option.
  2. Now click on preferences.
  3. Click on quicken ID and cloud accounts.
  4. Now select sign in as a different user.
  5. Once signed out, login back to quicken using your login details.

Once logged in check if the quicken stuck on updating issue is resolved or not.

Check your internet connection

If the internet is slow or not working, then you can face issues while updating your quicken. To check your internet and improve it follow the steps below.

  • Check if your internet is working or not, to do this open a browser and try playing a video.
  • Visit speedtest.net and check your internet speed, if your speed is slow then you can face issues while updating quicken.
  • If your internet is slow then move your router closer to your desktop or pc. If your internet is still slow, then use an ethernet cable for connecting your pc to the internet. Now check if the internet speed issue is resolved or not.
  • If the internet is not working, then you need to contact the internet service provider for help. After fixing the internet issue, you’ll be able to update your quicken.
Reinstall Quicken

If quicken is still stuck on processing data, updating accounts, or refreshing data then you can try reinstalling the quicken on your pc. Follow the steps below to reinstall quicken on your pc.

  1. Press the Windows key now search and open the control panel.
  2. Now click on uninstall a program.
  3. Now locate and uninstall quicken.

Install

  1. Download the quicken program from here.
  2. Right-click and click on run for installation.
  3. Now follow the on-screen installation instruction.

Once the quicken is installed, check if the quicken is functioning properly or not.
