I have recently read online that various people are encountering an issue on their computers. They have been seeing pop-ups saying, “Quicken has detected that you are accessing your data file remotely.” Such messages are very confusing and are causing stress to some users, who may not even know what they should do next.
Today we will discuss how you can fix the “Quicken has detected that you are accessing your data file remotely through DropBox, cloud storage, Google Drive, USB, or another remote source” issue on your desktop screen.
Why am I getting the Quicken has detected that you are accessing your data file remotely?
There were some users, who ran the update, and then they saw this message on the screen for the first time.
It means users are encountering the issue after updating Quicken.
It is just a temporary error that you might be experiencing because of a bug or glitch.
How to fix Quicken has detected that you are accessing?
Here are the ways that should be followed. Check to see if following them resolves the issue.
Ensure that you’ve backup all your data files. If not, back up all of your Quicken data files. Or move or copy your data file to another drive or location.
Check mark the box
Some affected Quicken users reported that they managed to resolve the error message by checking the box beside the “Don’t show this message again.”
- Open the Quicken.
- And once you get the “Quicken has detected that you are accessing your data file….remotely” message, head to the “Don’t show this message again” at the bottom left corner and Check the box.
- Now, click on “Continue” and take exit from the Quickenapp.
Check if doing this resolves the issue or not.
Try moving your data file
If the above step didn’t help, try to move your data files to some other location or folder. Below steps will help you in doing so;
- Firstly, move your data files to this C:\Users\Public\Documents.
- And, open it.
